Chopta is a picturesque hill station and a small village located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is often referred to as the "Mini Switzerland of India" due to its stunning natural beauty and serene environment. Chopta is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,680 meters (8,790 feet) above sea level. It's part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

Chopta is a popular base for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts. The region offers several trekking trails, including the trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and further to Chandrashila Peak, which provides breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas.

The Tungnath Temple, located at an altitude of 3,680 meters (12,073 feet), is a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the Panch Kedar temples and draws devotees and trekkers alike.
